Desert to Rain

Wow! Can't believe it's been six months, since I've written a tiny drop!
The urge to write has me all tied up and the urging won't seem to stop!
The words dried up and left me alone in a desert with no words at all,
now my heart is filling with words that appear as raindrops beginning to fall.

The desert, to me, is a lonely place that affects me in more than one way,
I just lay and watch, without movement, while the beads of dry sand make their play.
When the rain comes back my soul starts to wake, the dryness begins to retreat,
I can stand once again, the words reappear and my mind can start to compete.

To the writers in life, who may sometimes "lose" words, there is a small nugget to keep, let the desert blow by you, hold out for the rain, the words will return from the deep.
