Gaping

GAPING

Sometimes we seem to think that there is so much to achieve,

something in each one of us that gives, just to receive.

All around us things that shine and sparkle in our grasp,

allow for little evils to grow bigger than we ask.

These things require time and giving up some of our glee,

and ultimately cause the chains to bind, not set us free.

God asks that we hold loosely to the things not from above,

and to let Him fill the hole that gapes within, with His strong love.

Comfort in abundance, peace and joy that you can feel,

and life-eternal, yet to gain, would instantly be real.

Look to the Lord for wisdom in this age where world success

screams lonely, pride and greed, which is the farthest from God’s rest.

Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart…as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
