We went to the Maker Faire over the weekend, at the San Mateo Expo Center. It is a very interesting and random event. Everything that you can possibly think of, create or imagine to build is displayed there by "do it yourself-ers (DIY)" There are crafts, art, sculpture, machines, computer technology, exhibits, things made from every possible medium and more! Also fascinating are the people! It's a great place to people-watch and to see every kind of costume and dress, people of every age and style...they are creative, expressive, some are scary and others just plain odd. it's cool!
